Wearing
the right shoe is very important for complimenting the final look. In
fact, it is said that shoes can also tamper with a persons mood- a high
heel instead of a flat sandal can uplift the persons frame of mind. On a
western context, one can look for boots, pumps, wedges, stilettos,
peep-toes, and flip flops. Though there is a range of shoes that are in
style at the moment, what goes well in our country flip flops, the
classy stilettos, the trendy peep-toes, pumps, wedges and of course the
wedding sandals which comes in gold and silver colours and sparkly beads
too! These are the styles that go very well with the clothes we wear.
Flip flop
The advantages and benefits of flip flips have become
apparent in summer when your feet tend to get hot, sweaty and swollen
when held within the strictures of ordinary shoes or even sandals. They
are very easy to put on, and they offer your feet a high degree of ventilation when they most need it.
As for it being fashionable enough, it totally depends on how you relate
to fashion, but once you match it with your purse you are ready to look
all trendy. Choose the right flops and you are in with the right crowd.
The fact that they are not pricey is fabulous for the followers,
because they no longer have to hunt out the cheap and in budget flops.
One can find it for Tk 700! Good quality flip flops, with bendy rubber
soles at Bata (any branch), Spark gear (62, Gulshan Avenue,Gulshan -1),
and Priyo (Dhanmondi Rd# 5, Mirpur road) and Jatra both the branches.
Pumps
Pumps
are among the most dynamic items a woman can have in her wardrobe: they
turn heads, they exude power and femininity and, they're more versatile
than you might think.
Black, white, grey, cream and red pumps look great with any neutral
shade. Classically-shaped pumps, in any colour, will work with skirts,
dresses and pants of any shape, length or style.
If you'd prefer an evening look, go for a pair of open- or pointy-toed,
satin pumps, if it's a fun, retro glam look you want, shop for bright
red classic pumps with closed toes (pointy or round), high heels and no
embellishments. It's a look you can rock with everything from jeans to
saris. You can get pumps between Tk 500- Tk 1,000 at Bashudhara city
level 3, Spark gear, and Kloset (Otobi Centre 2nd floor Plot 12, Gulshan
South Avenue Gulshan 1). It is also available at Bata and costs between
Tk 1,090 to Tk 2,490.
Peep-toes
These
are the must haves for those who admire the cheeky look with jeans,
skirts, dresses and saris too! It is the most convenient footwear
providing both comfort and style and can be worn at any occasion. The
ideal colours to choose for peep-toes are the standard colours of cream,
white, black and blue, they co-ordinate well with any colour.
Peep-toes which come in flat bases are comfortable and go great with
jeans and skirts. However, one must not make the mistake of wearing it
with dresses and saris as you need the extra heights to enhance your
flowing outfits. You can grab really classy ones at Cats Eye (Gulshan
branch), and Shimmer within a range of Tk 800- Tk 4,000. If you are
looking for something more affordable yet pretty for your foot you can
try out Sparkgear, and Maysoon (shop#18, 3rd floor, Anam Rangs Plaza)
only between Tk 500- Tk 1,500.
Wedges
Wedges are a popular summer choice. These types of summer heels
are set apart from platforms, stilettos, and other high heels by their
distinct shape. The actual wedge element is one piece. It runs the
length of the sandal, though it’s thicker at the heel of the foot and
thinner or flat near the toe. Wedge sandals come in a variety of styles
and are different from wedge shoes often called wedges as an umbrella
term.
Women
who don’t normally wear sandals or heels may opt to wear wedge sandals.
Worn with dresses or skirts, shorts, jeans or even business wear, the
right summer wedge can spruce up or an outfit with a touch of unfussy
elegance. In addition, a wedge sandal is perhaps more comfortable than a
typical high heel or flip flop, as it has a more solidified foundation
with a bit of an arch. To dress your feet with nice wedges, you can try
Maysoon (shop#18, 3rd floor, Anam Rangs Plaza), Bata (Bashundhara
branch) and Spark gear (62, Gulshan Avenue,Gulshan -1) .These are
available within a range of Tk400-Tk800.
Stiletto Heels
Stilettos are the most stylish possession a woman can have. It is named
after the stiletto dagger, the phrase being first recorded in the early
1930s. Stiletto heels may vary in length from 2.5 centimetres (1 inch)
to 20 cm (8 inches) or more if a platform sole is used, and are
sometimes defined as having a diameter at the ground of less than 1 cm
(slightly less than half an inch).
The extremely slender original Italian-style stiletto heels of the very
early 1960s were no more than 5mm in diameter for much of their length,
although the heel sometimes flared out a little at the tip. After their
demise in the mid-late 1960s, such slender heels were difficult to find
until recently due to changes in the way heels were mass-produced.
Luckily the trend of these nice slender looking shoes reached the
southern part of Asia and fell on our side of the ladies’ fashion must
haves. Stiletto heels can be worn with saris apart from any sort of
western clothes. The best stilettos can be purchased within a budget of
Tk 3,000-Tk 8,000 and above, depending on your requirements (beads,
strings, etc) at outlets such as Cats eye, Celebrations and Shimmer. It
is also available in Bata and it costs Tk 3,000+. The cheaper ones
start from Tk 1,000-Tk 1,500 and shops at Elephant road is worth trying.
