A controversial comment on rape got actors Sunny Leone and Kamaal R Khan involved in an ugly legal battle.
Sunny Leone landed herself in a controversy when she allegedly posted a
controversial tweet on rape. Small time actor Kamaal Khan sent the
controversy spiraling out of control after he tweeted: "Ye lo... Sunny
Leone says - Rape is not a Crime, It's just a Surprise Sex," quoting
what he claims to be a tweet she'd posted.
Sunny Leone later denied having tweeted it and claimed that her account was hacked for around five minutes.
Sunny
then filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of
Mumbai Police against Kamaal R Khan for falsely attributing
controversial comments on rape to her on his micro blogging page.
After Sunny Leone filed complaint against KRK, he also hit back by filing complaint against Sunny Leone and her husband.
"Police should arrest Sunny Leone and her husband within 24 hours
according to my complaint. If police will not arrest then I shall go to
court. I have filed case not only against Sunny but her lukkha (sic)
husband Daniel Weber also," Khan tweeted.
Sunny Leone was quoted by an English daily as saying, "This is a silly
comment made by some idiot. I didn't want to encourage him by responding
to such things, but it's a sensitive issue, especially after what
happened in Delhi. Questions should be turned to him. I don't care what
people think about me. Call me every name in the book, but don't
associate me with a criminal act."
Apparently, she tweeted -"Rape is not a crime, it is surprise sex."
The tweet was quickly lapped up and retweeted several times by her followers on the micro-blogging site.
Later she denied making the statement on twitter and wrote: "Who ever
has said this rape comment is an idiot. I never said this. Grow
up!!!!!!!!!"
