Tv and RadioShe became an enlisted artiste at Bangladesh Betar in 2002 as a Nazrul, modern and folk song singer in C-Grade and began performing for BTV in several programmes, including Saptaya Dinga and Jiban Bangladesh Maran Bangladesh till 2005.
Career and BreakthroughNancy started her career in 2009. Earlier she transacted singing in several studio albums. First, she got a chance for singing a jingle for Meril Beauty Soap. Before coming to Dhaka, her family arranged a familial occasion in ther Netrokona's house in which popular singer Ferdous Wahid happened to attend. 'I sang a song his presence during the gathering and later, when his son Habib Wahid, needed of female vocalist for a jingle for a TV commercial, Ferdous Wahid told Habib about me, that I was a good singer and he could use my voice in his work.
AboutSubsequently, she got a chance to sing two songs in the film "Akash Chhowa Bhalobasa" in the same year. It was her first playback. The music of the soundtrack was composed by popular singer Habib Wahid. She sang the song "Prithibir Joto Shukh" and "Hawaye Hawaye Dolna Doley" in the film. Both the songs were well received and because of her singing, she was appreciated. Then she went on to sing non-playback songs. Then, she again collaborated with Habib Wahid in the film 'Chandragrahan'. She sang "Tomare Dekhilo Porano Bhoriya" with Habib. After that she sang duets with Belal Khan, Tausif and Arefin Rumi, and the song "Ami Tomar Moner Bhetor" with Habib Wahid. Then she concentrated on studio albums. She has also sung with Hridoy Khan, Ferdous Wahid and S. I. Tutul. She has sung several jingles for TV. She again sang a song composed by Habib Wahid in the film Projapoti, "Sparsh", which wasn't very popular. Despite this song has earned her the very first National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2011.
FamilyIn 2006, Nancy has got married with a businessman and has a three-year old baby girl named Rodela. When Nancy was about 5 years old, she, like her mother, wanted to take singing lessons, in order to become a singer. But her mother did however did allow Nancy to choose in whatever she wanted to play in. On 4 March 2013, Nancy married for a second time, her husband is a businessman
OtherNancy had been a good student, standing first from class one to class ten. ‘But I was very sad because I could not acquire an A+ in my higher secondary examination,’ she said.
She has also expressed a desire to act. ‘Now I have the desire to play a role in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s drama. He can represent a character exactly how he or she is seen in reality. Not that I will act professionally in dramas though, as I want to persist with my musical career
